New members of the ROTAR RSS-X Scrap Shear Series
When building scrap shears, it has always been the focus of ROTAR to find the best balance between the weight of the attachment, power, and productivity in scrapyards. Now, the well-known Dutch manufacturer of attachments for demolition and recycling has expanded its RSS series of scrap shears with two new types to meet customers’ requirements even better.
For more than 40 years, ROTAR has offered high-quality attachments for recycling that convince both the entrepreneur and the operator, because they lead to a great performance on the scrapyard and are very easy to handle. As requirements in the industry regarding output and productivity are constantly getting more demanding, it is in the DNA of ROTAR to keep optimizing each attachment of the whole series to always offer the best and most up-to-date solution to their customers.
Perfect match – great performance
If necessary, new models are being added to a series so that Rotar is always able to offer the exact matching attachment: At the moment there are 8 different models of RSS shears. Louis Broekhuizen, managing partner of Rotar says, ‘Our attachments deliver the best performance for our customers only if they perfectly match the carrier, which is not just a question of the matching weight but also of hydraulic flow and many other points.’
Rotar scrap shears convince customers with their robust construction, enormous cutting power and rapid cycle times, which ensure great productivity for a long time: Longevity of the attachments is provided by replaceable cutting blades, a strong upper head and slewing ring, as well as a specially developed hydraulic cylinder and the double hose connection.
New models RSS70 and RSS75
Rotar listened closely to the feedback of customers and defined for themselves the challenge to offer the best scrap shear for the important weight range of excavators from 35 up to 40 tonnes. This size of excavator is often found in the role of the key machine in scrapyards, which especially has to perform as an all-rounder at a high level and lead to great productivity.
This is the reason why Rotar decided to create a new model especially for these excavators, which offers the best relation between the working weight of the carrier and attachments with performance but also offers optimization regarding length, pressure, and diameter: The model RSS70X offers great tip force due to 380 bar pressure allowance and leads to a significant increase in productivity.
For excavators with a working weight of 40 up to 56 tonnes, Rotar has now developed the model RSS75X. Here, the same shear body is used as for the RS70X model, but a heavy-duty slewing ring and swivel with enlarged flow capacity have been installed. With this enlarged series, it’s now even easier for customers to find the best matching scrap shear for the highest performance in the scrapyard.
Dominik Erath, managing partner, says, ‘We all know that money in a scrapyard is made with the attachments. Thanks to our large professional network and close cooperation with many manufacturers of excavators, we can realize the ideal setup with regard to performance, durability, and sustainability. This way customers are assured that Rotar takes responsibility to provide the best possible solutions.’
